KEMPEN SELAMATKAN SUFIAH

There was an article dated the 1 April 2008 at Utusan Online , reporting on the move by the Malaysian Government to start a campaign to "Save Suffiah" the British so called mathematic genius. The effort is going to be championed by none other than YB Dr Mashitah Ibrahim. What gets me is, why is the government so concerned about the welfare of suffiah. She is not even a Malaysian. If they want to help, by all means go ahead, use your own money. But,why use taxpayer money. we are forced to pay tax because they say that they need money to run the country.

I suppose, they will have to send Dr Mashitah and a whole entourage to Manchester to sort out Suffiah. Guest how much is it going to cost us, a few million at least? surely the matter cannot be settled in one trip. After initial counselling, they will have to give her regular monitoring, and all this for one girl who quit Oxford so she could live her life as she please. What benefit is it to our nation by saving this girl?

Dato Zaid Hamidi said, she need to be save because she is a pride of our nation, I totally loss him here. She is British and she Failed, need I say more.

If they wish to show compassion, why not go help those at Lorong Hj Taib and many other Lorongs in KL, if they choose to help only Malay Muslim ( being the ultra righteous bunch), there will be plenty of work for Dr. Mashitah. These women are Malaysian and they are our problem, most are forced into prostitution and could not find their way out because, we as a nation continuosly pretend that we do not have such problem and turn our faces away when we come accross one. We look down on them and yet part of the reason why KL is such a popular tourist attraction is due to its flesh market. Are we going to deny it?.

Dear RPK, you have the power to bring the attention of the public to do the RIGHT THING, so can we instead do a KEMPEN SELAMATKAN WANITA MALAYSIA DARI PELACURAN, regardless of age, race or religion.

Thank you

Kay Shafie (a malay muslim women)
